NIT denies ragging

 The National Institute of Technology (NIT)-Warangal said that there had been no incidents of ragging on its campus ever since the new academic year commenced.N V Umamahesh, dean, students' affairs, said the administration and the students' council were taking all precautions to prevent ragging incidents on the campus."We are keeping a close watch to see that these incidents do not recur. It is unfortunate that a news channel had depicted videos of students having a birthday party in their hostel room as a ragging incident," he said. He denied that students had stormed into the administrative block during a recent protest after the videos were aired by the channel,asserted that the protestors were ABVP and Telangana Students' Federation activists. who had no connection with NIT-Warangal.
