NIT Warangal Impact - Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation to maintain PVNR expressway

In a recent blog post we had talked about a NIT Warangal study on PVNR flyover. It said that the flyover is not safe for the commuters. Initially the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) tried to deny the report saying everything is okay with the flyover. But today Stung by the report on poor maintenance of the PVNR elevated expressway, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has decided to hand over the upkeep of the country's longest flyover to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). This shows the impact of NIT Warangal study which had exposed problems with the construction and maintenance. You can check the news paper article on it. It clearly acknowledges the role of NIT Warangal as follows.

The National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal, in its recent report, has exposed poor maintenance of the carriageway and pointed out accumulation of dirt along the edges of the carriageway. "We have approached GHMC authorities and discussed the road safety audit report submitted by NIT, Warangal. The GHMC has agreed to take up sweeping activity on the 11.5-km expressway, but they will do it once in five days only. They will deploy sweeping machines instead of manual sweeping," a senior HMDA engineering official told STOI.

NIT Warangal Conducts NITWET 2012 on June 15 & 16

National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal conducts National Institute of Technology Warangal Entrance Test (NITWET 2012) on June 15 & 16 for admission into the Master of Science (M.Sc) programmes commencing in the session 2012.

The Programmes are offered M.Sc in:

• Physics
• Mathematics
• Chemistry

Exam Pattern:
There will be 80 multiple choice objective questions in each subjects and the time duration will be 2 Hours. 4 marks will be given for the correctly answered question and 1 mark will be deducted for the wrongly answered question.

Eligibility:
Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline with 60% (for 55% SC/ST) of marks from a recognized university.

How to apply:

• The Application form and Prospectus can be downloaded from the official website of National Institute of Technology Warangal.
• Candidates should create login and password by registering themselves in the website NITWET. Then fill the online application form made available in the website after obtaining DD for processing fee, scanned copy of their latest passport photo, signature.

Important Dates:
Last date for online Login creation is May 25, 2012.
Last date for submission of online application May 25, 2012.
Last date for the submission of offline application form is May 30, 2012.
NITWET 2012 will be held on June 15 and 16, 2012 at 10.00 AM to 12.00 PM.
